Albania - Theth to Grunas Waterfall

May 2026 - (with Gemma) Grunas Waterfall (also known as Theth Waterfall) is a stunning 30-metre-tall cascade and protected natural monument located in the heart of Theth National Park. Fed entirely by melting mountain snow, the waterfall plunges down a limestone cliff into a vibrant, icy emerald pool. It is one of the most accessible and popular day hikes in the Albanian Alps. A lovely walk before the crowds which involved some scrambling and dodgy river crossings. We visited the Kisha e Thethit, the church of Theth, an unusual and beautiful church built in 1892 and still at the same spot with the same foundations until this very day.
